The third floor prior to the arrival of desks and people (1972). The Sea-Air Interaction Laboratory and the Hurricane directors occupied these offices and shared the lobby.

There are four photographs of the interior of AOML prior to the arrival of staff, furniture and equipment in one of the Stewart family photo albums. For the most part, the areas in the photos remain as they were at the time the building was inaugurated.
